About the Network
Founded in 2017 by a group of EBU members, the IJN has brought together reporters from across the EBU membership to collaborate on high-impact, cross-border investigations. Through this collective approach, the Network has delivered journalism of international relevance, widely republished across public service media and recognised through nominations for leading industry awards.
The mission of the EBU Investigative Journalism Network (IJN) is to strengthen public service journalism through rigorous, collaborative investigations grounded in verification, transparency, and editorial independence.
By fostering connections among reporters across Europe, enabling intelligence-sharing, coordinated storytelling and collaborative newsgathering, the Network amplifies the reach and impact of investigations with pan-European significance.
The Investigative Journalism Network is coordinated by a Steering Committee that reports to the EBU News Committee, ensuring strategic alignment and continued cooperation across the EBU membership.
